Dan sees him­self as “a mod­ern nar­ra­tive painter”. A na­tive of Rochester, New York, the Amer­i­can at­tended Syra­cuse Univer­sity, where he earned a BFA and be­gan pur­su­ing art as a ca­reer.

“I weave a rich tex­ture of the surreal and mys­te­ri­ous into my work. I think I have an orig­i­nal, flow­ing style.” Dan also de­scribes his art as “de­tail­in­ten­sive”, with their “dream­like abil­ity to tran­scend the nat­u­ral states of space and time”.

His paint­ings have been ex­hib­ited in gal­leries and mu­se­ums through­out the world. He lives and works in Michi­gan with his wife Ken­dal and son Max.
