“On the other hand, there’s something so satisfying about working with traditional media. The grit of pencil on paper, the smell of solvents, that hallowed original, which is almost impossible to create digitally. Traditional art is deliciously tangible.”
For this artist, painting has to fit around the roles of mother and wife: “Squeezing in time to make art has been a slippery balance between chores, chauffeuring and an easily distracted muse,” she says.
