“It’s the sense of scale that first strikes me when I view Stephanie’s artwork. Followed quickly by an appreciation of how she handles shapes as visual shorthand to develop a scene. Groovy use of muted colours, too.” Alice Pattillo, Staff Writer

1 The Hobnob “This is the name my grandfather gave the cabin he built in New York. I made this piece for my mom a few years after he died. It’s very abstract and was a ton of fun to make. I let myself play with saturated colours and an impossible scale, my natural go-tos with landscape.”

2 Dragon Temple “I allowed myself to explore a highly graphic, digital mark making. I used a range of photo textures – Buddhist statues, oriental rugs, metalwork – and jumbled them together to create hits of light and mysterious detail in the background. I loved using a rich, decadent palette of sunset colours throughout.”

3 Storm “I used a lot of texture-rich Round brushes and vague transitions, contrasted just a few times with sharp edges. I wanted to use creamy, muted pastel colours to create a dream-like world that contrasts with the intrusion of the jagged, alien ship on the horizon.”
