Painting curly hair

To create the effect of soft, silky, bouncy curls, I avoid creating a strong contrast between shades of grey. To focus the viewer’s eye on the face, it’s not necessary to detail all the strands, perhaps just those located near the forehead and cheeks. I also avoid custom brushes for painting hair, because they can easily create the effect of a material thread, rather than hair strands.
