… having a mirrored medicine cabinet

The deal: When you think of a traditional wall-hung medicine cabinet, you may think of dated or clunky designs, but there are beautiful new wall-mounted designs such as those from Ceramica Cielo. They offer great alternatives in varying shapes and sizes, adding that extra touch of detail to your space. The pros: A medicine cabinet can act as additional storage, particularly in a smaller space where you don’t have the luxury of a vanity unit. Using a larger wall-mounted mirror cabinet, or a double door unit, can reflect natural light into your space, making your bathroom feel bigger and brighter. The cons: Unless you opt for a slimline option, or one that can be recessed into the wall, medicine cabinets can look quite cumbersome protruding from the wall, as well as collecting dust on top! It’s also important to find a design that fits – it may become an eyesore if it hasn’t been thought out. The verdict: Yay! But do your research and have a look for options that add more interest to your space instead of making it look dated, which is a big nay. If you opt for a recessed version, make sure you have the right wall supports and thickness to be able to mount it, and factor the building costs into your overall budget as well.
