TRAVEL TIPS FROM TORI & FREDDIE:

-

“We went in June and the weather was perfect! It gets really packed in August, so I would avoid going toward the end of summer.”

“For travel help, we used Leaders In Travel. I would recommend the company for transferring from location to location, but I actually ended up picking and planning most of the activities on my own.”

“Don’t be deterred by the long plane ride to Mykonos – it is definitely worth the trip!”

“It’s okay to meet and hang out with other people. Just because it is your honeymoon doesn’t mean it has to be you two alone the whole trip!”

“Remember: Athens, Mykonos, and Santorini all happen to be very touristy spots, so most of the people who live on the islands don’t even live there year-round and are from a variety of other countries. We didn’t visit many ‘local spots’ because there really weren’t many.”

Santorini, Greece

For their final honeymoon stop, the sweethearts flew over to the island of Santorini. “Everyone raves about Santorini, so we had to go there,” remarks Tori. “We knew this would be the ‘romantic’ portion of our trip, and it was. The view literally takes your breath away.” The pair checked in for five nights at Canaves Oia Suites, which, like their Mykonos accommodation, overlooked the peaceful Aegean Sea. “It’s a great spot for couples,” the bride assures. “Our room was idyllic, the service was good, and the location was great.” On their last leg, the two elected to indulge in the on-site spa – though their experience didn’t go as planned. “We both got treatments; however, I would not recommend them. The spa was beautiful and interesting because it was in a cave, but we’ve had better service elsewhere.”

Before they had even departed the United States, Tori booked a wine tour for the pair in Santorini, which both bride and groom had been looking forward to the entire trip. “We went to three different vineyards on the island and learned all about how they make wine – which is a very unique process due to the high winds of the island during winter months,” shares Tori. “I found a wine I loved and we enjoyed cheese and crackers while our tour guide gave us so many interesting facts about Santorini and the wine.” As their last big adventure in Greece, husband and wife set off on a private cruise around the island, accompanied by only the captain and his assistant. “They were very sweet and so much fun!” exclaims the bride. “They cooked us dinner while we were jumping off the boat and enjoying the beautiful island water.” Of course, their picturesque vacation had to come to an end, but the newlyweds are sure they’ll remember their honeymoon for the rest of their lives. “I absolutely loved Greece!” Tori confirms.
