“We are thrilled with our registry choices... our home is so ‘us!’”
She then opted for retailer Williams-Sonoma, a high-end kitchenware staple that Alex says “makes the worst cooks look like semi-pros – or at least fools them for a while.” However, the bride did feel that returns and exchanges were rather tricky and warns others to be well-informed of retailers’ policies. Next was online store Amazon.com for Jordan’s “stray picks” as Alex describes, which included a universal TV remote and an olive stuffer for martinis. “MyRegistry.com brought them all together in one easy-to-use page… I am very thankful for their organization,” affirms Alex.
The couple was also excited to take their loved ones “along” on their Tahiti honeymoon adventure. They relied on Honeyfund.com to allow guests to purchase activities for them to complete while on the trip. “Honeyfund was both Jordan’s and my favorite. We personalized our site to make it fun and interactive with photos and used pun descriptions of each experience,” Alex explains. The newlyweds later sent photos of the activities with thank-you cards to respective giftgivers. “It was the best feeling to go scuba diving, sip Champagne, or eat local lobster knowing that one of your best friends made it happen!” the bride adds.
At the end of it all, Alex and Jordan wound up with a mix of useful everyday items, fun and fancy gadgets, pops of color in sparkly crystal glassware, and Polynesian-vacation memories for a lifetime. “We are thrilled with our registry choices… our home is so ‘us!’” asserts the bride. Jordan, on the other hand, playfully confides that he’s still in shock at some of the things that were on their wish list: “My wife chose 16 crystal vases and 14 purple Champagne flutes. However, I would do it again exactly the same.”
