This application uses a first-run assistant to help set up things like the location of the Photos folder and the location of the database file. Advanced users also get to decide whether RAW images should be opened via the RAW adjustment tool to manually adjust and correct the image before importing them. Each step in the wizard has a brief explanation to help users make the choice that suits their work flow.

The app itself has a simple two-pane interface with the list of libraries on the left and the thumbnails of the images inside each library on the right. You can change the view and access the commonly used tools, such as the image editor and light table tool from the top panel. The interface is intelligent and also quite intuitively arranged, as it gives access to lots of tools without inundating the first-time user.
