What’s supported?
If you head over to the official wiki ( https://wiki.gnome.org/ Apps/Games/Roadmap) you’ll see a road map for proposed features that will be added in future updates, such as support for the Xbox 360 controller, PlayStation platform support and integration with the Gnome Shell to allow you to search for games. One upcoming feature that’s being worked on at the moment is plug-in support for game types, making it easier to maintain. You wouldn’t need to install compatibility files for games from platforms you’ll never use, so it should make the Games app more lightweight as well.
Improved metadata is also on the roadmap, which will allow you to sort and organise your collection much more easily – with support for covers and icons that will make browsing your collection more attractive.
We take you through the steps for downloading and installing Games ( seeabove), and if you like what you see then why not consider contributing to the project by lending a hand by doing some coding, design work, game testing and writing the documentation needed for the project?
You can contact the creators in the #gnome-games room at Gnome IRC server ( irc://irc.gnome.org) and you can file bugs on the GitHub page ( https://github.com/Kekun/ gnome-games/issues). As the Games application is still being worked on you could encounter some bugs, but it’s already in a usable state for helping to get your games collection organised.
