Buffered VPN
Buffered VPN deserves credit for producing its own VPN client, but the company doesn’t make it simple to use. It’s not on the initial download list. There’s a Linux client in the Beta section, but no setup instructions; the instructions for the old Legacy client are extremely brief.
The website has a long list of setup tutorials, but they’re short and often leave you guessing. One installation guide tells you to log in to buffered.com and download “the required config file”: no link, no file name, no advice on where to look – you must figure it out yourself.
None of this will hold up experienced users for long. Beginners will also figure out the Linux basics eventually, with some help from support, and once it’s set up the system is simple to use. But there’s no doubt it could be much easier, and slow progress on development of the clients makes us think it’s not going to change any time soon.
