With great power, comes great responsibility
There’s a reason users see this message when they enter sudo the first time around. The fact of the matter is that it’s true. Just because you can create a customised Arch Linux disc image and put it up on sourceforge and be featured in distrowatch, doesn’t always mean you should.
You need to understand that people who download your ISO won’t have the same hardware that you might have tested it on. There will be bug reports, and people will ask for help using it. It takes time and effort to maintain a Linux distribution that’s been submitted to the general public for download. Some Linux distros rely entirely on donations to keep them running.
If you do go down the road of uploading to sites like sourceforge, then we wish you good luck in your new creation and addition to the Linux community but we have a duty to let you know about these issues and that you should only do it if you have the available time to maintain it and sort out any bugs or kinks in your newly created disc image. It also requires a lot of knowledge to the inner workings of Linux – not just Arch Linux, but Linux in general.
