Barcamp Manchester 2018
Barcamp Manchester is one of the best examples of a barcamp, an unscheduled conference where delegates provide the talks, and it continues to engage and entertain those attending. For 2018 the event is scheduled to take place in September. Details are a little sketchy for now, so keep an eye on their website for further information: www.barcampmanchester.co.uk Liverpool Makefest The fantastic Liverpool Makefest is back for 2018. It takes place on 30 June at the Liverpool Central Library, and is a melting pot of technologies, art forms and talents from the very breadth of the maker community. In 2017 we saw artisan electric guitars, virtual reality, Harry Potterinspired wand making and lots of Arduino and Raspberry Pi-based projects. This is a free event, and it’s well worth popping along with the family and enjoy the many stalls and workshops. More information and ticket details can be found at www.lpoolmakefest.org. Pi Birthday Jams In March 2018 there’ll be a series of Raspberry Jam events that will link up to form one giant party celebrating the impact of the Raspberry Pi. Now is your chance to register your jam, or if there isn’t a local jam then start one! All you need to do is to put up a few tables and chairs, and then invite local Raspberry Pi and Linux enthusiasts to take part in the event. You can read more about this event via the Raspberry Pi website: www.raspberrypi.org/blog/ raspberry-jam-big-birthdayweekend-2018.
