Documentation & support
Guides, tutorials and wiki’s. Help comes in many forms…
The Gnome wiki is home to a large FAQ on Empathy. It covers many different topics such as configuration, voice and video calling. You can also launch Help from within the program by pressing F1. It provides detailed instruction on account management, contact management, audio and video conversations and even advanced topics such as sending files.
Jitsi users can join the Users mailing list to connect with fellow users and developers to solve any problems.
You’ll find a FAQ and tutorials on the GNURing website. The FAQ addresses a handful of common queries whereas the project hosts tutorials on installation and using GNURing to make calls.
OpenMeetings provides installation instructions for all supported platforms. You’ll find PDF tutorials covering the installation for many distributions such as Mageia, Ubuntu and Fedora. The tutorials come in several languages including Spanish and Italian and were not natively written in English. Although adequate, you can’t rely exclusively on these tutorials to install OpenMeetings. The project also hosts several mailing lists, including User List that you can use to connect with fellow users.
uTox doesn’t host any native documentation. You can find some instructions on how to use it and its features on the Tox wiki which provides information on all popular Tox clients. The GitHub page for the project can be used to reach to the developers and the user community.
