Add live TV to your Vero 4K

-

Naturally, the Vero 4K can serve double duty as a live TV and PVR – you can even purchase a branded USB DVB-T2 TV tuner from the Vero Store for under £30. It works from the get-go – once plugged in and connected to your aerial, head to the My OSMC screen, select Store and install the TVheadend backend server in just a few clicks.

This is deceptively simple, because your next task is to configure the backend through a remote web browser (192.168.x.y:9981 since you asked, substituting 192.168.x.y with your Vero 4K’s IP address). Log in using both ‘osmc’ for the username and password.

TVheadend will then run a setup wizard that should detect your TV tuner – plus any other network tuners you may have set up (such as HDHomerun) – and skip you through the process of getting things set up. This, too, is nice and straightforward, and once complete you’re up and running… right?

Not quite. The convoluted process now involves switching back to Vero, navigating to Settings> Add-ons>My add-ons>PVR Clients>TVheadend HTSP client and clicking Configure to enter your TVheadend username and password. Finally, click Enable.

OK – phew! – now you have access to Live TV and a PVR through your Vero 4K. And relax!

?? ?? Once you’ve jumped through the correct hoops you can turn the Vero 4K into a PVR.
