LINUX MINT 21
The latest version of this popular Ubuntu-based distro has landed. Bluetooth is now handled by Blueman, which replaces Blueberry, and there’s also been improvements to Sticky Notes, which makes taking quick notes even easier. A new process monitor will also alert you if there are automated tasks (such as backups) that are running in the background and taking up your PC’s resources. This French distro has brought out a new version, which brings several updates and fixes. Its custom package manager, cards, has been updated to 2.5.4, and there are new versions of glibc, binutils, xorg-server and more. The range of desktop environments that the distro comes with have also been updated, including Xfce, Mate and Gnome. ROCKY LINUX 9.0
Rocky Linux 9.0 is now out to download, and comes with Gnome 40, redesigned core applications and an overhauled user interface to make it even easier to use. You can now run software on a selected graphics card by right-clicking an application and choosing the GPU. Notification muting is now included, and support for multiple screens with different refresh rates has been included. This version will be supported until 31 May, 2032. 4MLINUX 40.0
The lightweight distro that focuses on four elements – maintenance, multimedia, miniserver and mystery (well, gaming) – has just been updated with a stable release. Legacy MPlayer with MEncoder are now available out of the box, TrueCrypt is included and new games include Gnome Mahjongg and Entombed!, which is a downloadable extension. A number of system-wide changes have also been implemented, which improve 3D support (including when 4MLinux is run on a virtual machine).
