⬛ One (1) Purse Template piece.

2 From the lining fabric cut:

⬛ Two (2) Purse Template pieces.

EPP THE FRONT

3 Prepare the EPP pieces. Place each piece on the reverse of your fabric and secure with a dot of glue. Cut out, adding a in seam allowance around all edges. Baste the fabric to each EPP piece, using your preferred method.

4 Sew the pieces together, starting with the triangles in the centre. Then add the half hexagons and diamond around the outer edges, as shown in Fig 1.

5 Press the EPP section. Carefully remove the paper templates, unfolding the seam allowances around the outer edges. Press again. Centre the purse template over the pieced section and trim.

MAKING THE PURSE

6 Place the EPP purse shape RST with the outer fabric purse shape. Sew around the bottom edge, between the notches, backstitching at each end. Repeat with the two lining pieces, leaving an approx. 3in gap unsewn, for turning.

7 Turn the outer purse right side out. Place inside the lining, RST, aligning raw edges and side seams. Sew around the top edge, pivoting at the side seams.

8 Turn the purse right side out through the gap in the lining. Sew the gap closed and push into the purse. Attach to the frame, following the manufacturer’s instructions.
