What is it? San Fran-based New Deal Design, the folks behind the Fitbit activity trackers, has released a new and unusual wearable tech product. Whistle is a brand new health monitor… for dogs. A brushed stainless steel disc fits on your furry friend’s collar, and wirelessly connected through Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0, it automatically pushes activity data to a database and connects with a mobile app. It collects all sorts of data on your dog’s daily habits, and provides invaluable information for pet owners and their vets. When’s it due? Later this year. Why are we excited? Wearable tech is this year’s Big Thing. How far it can go is anyone’s guess, but we must admit we’d never have thought of this one.
