Game, set and iTunes Match

-

I bought a new iPhone 5; previously I had the iPhone 4S, on which I had iTunes Match. However, I don’t have iTunes Match on my iPhone. When I go to transfer files onto the iPhone from iTunes, it fails. However, in iTunes, a message appears saying iTunes Match is on. Where in Preferences can I turn it off? Anton Vass, Slovakia You can turn off iTunes Match, just for your phone, by tapping Settings > Music and swiping iTunes Match to ‘off’. You can also turn off the service entirely from iTunes with the ‘Store > Turn Off iTunes Match’ menu option. With iTunes Match on, you can’t sync music from iTunes; it’s accessed from iCloud. I’m not sure if you actually want iTunes Match on your new phone or not. The subscription to the service isn’t tied to a particular device, so there’s no reason why you couldn’t have it. If it’s not working, try turning off iTunes Match on your iPhone and Mac. Then, in iTunes, click Store > View Account and under the ‘iTunes in the Cloud section’, click Manage Devices. Click Remove for everything listed. Click Store > Authorise This Computer and on your iPhone 5 try downloading something you’ve already bought from the store. That should re-establish the link with your Apple ID and you can then turn iTunes Match back on.
