Yosemite killed the DVD star?

I’ve just seen screen shots for the System Preferences in Yosemite, and there’s no icon for CD/DVD as there is in Mavericks. Does this mean that I won’t be able to write slideshow to disk anymore when Yosemite is released? I know Apple doesn’t think that CD/DVDs are needed anymore, but I will certainly not be upgrading if they’ve removed access to them. Bernard Page Matt Bolton says: Have no fear! Yosemite supports DVD/CD drives, of course. If a screenshot is from a Mac with no disc drive (which is almost all Macs you can buy these days), that option won’t be in its System Preferences unless you attach an external drive. As you’ll see in our screenshot, Yosemite is quite happy with good ol’ shiny discs.
