Steve Clarke’s Mac platform is vital to his productivity. As a software engineer and a freelance IT consultant, he’s learned the value of ensuring he has the right tools for the job. “The ability to deliver value to my clients is key to my success – whether they’re large clients in the UK or local businesses who need more focussed Mac based IT support,” he told us.

Steve uses his Mac in ways to keep productive, whether working at the client site or remotely from home on key software projects, presentations, multimedia or remote support. “I absolutely rely on the seamless Mac experience, regardless of my location,” he says. “When working at the customer site, my MacBook Pro is my trusty workhorse, which is an incredibly useful tool whether I’m writing software or collaborating online via the cloud. Accessing my home office through Back To My Mac lets me access document history in a snap, get software components I need to the customer or even to stream media to my device.”

As an avid software developer, Steve uses Xcode to develop software applications for the Mac. He’s found it challenging and fulfilling to learn both the Mac and iOS platforms, and to leverage them to his advantage. “Although I’m an early adopter, I only have a few apps in the App Store so far. But learning Objective-C and Xcode has

Apple’s ecosystem allows you to move from device to device without missing a beat

It may be out of sight but it’s never out of mind: Steve’s Drobo FS NAS is great for backups.

4 helped me to really understand the Mac platform and what it’s capable of. This has proved useful with projects for corporate and personal clients who are really looking for someone who can either develop or design new software applications for Mac or iOS, but also to help them deliver enterprise software solutions that use the Apple ecosystem. And it’s fun, too!”

Steve also loves the Mac’s ability to share data. “Content sharing resources and apps like Flipboard, Pocket and Messages allow me to both identify new material, use it to learn and also to share with friends and colleagues. Regardless of which device I’m on, I can capture and share content so easily with everyone, and this enhances my productivity and interests. Only Apple and their ecosystem really allow you to move from device to device without missing a beat!”
