They Need To Be Fed 3
A little bit tasty
This follows in its predecessors’ footsteps, with you guiding a strange bipedal creature to his ultimate goal: being munched by a giant, ravenous plant. Unlike most platform games, the levels here comprise geometric shapes suspended in space, each with its own gravitational field. Success initially depends on mastering which way is left and which is right, especially when you happen to be upside-down and near deadly spikes.
The game’s minimalism (visually) echoes its forebears and feels at home on Apple devices. Every level design provides new, severe challenges, offering endless inventive ways to kill the plant-loving critter. It’s frequently frustrating – with uncomfortable controls – but there are generous restart points. Still, bar the missable extra ‘adventure’ mode, this is a rare thing: an excellent iOS platform game. Craig Grannell
Third time lucky; this is the best entry in the series. Be warned: this isn’t a game to breeze through!
