Welcome back to Tropico, Presidente! The hottest (or, at least, most humid) management game is back. Take over the beautiful island of Tropico and turn it into your own kind of sub-tropical suburban paradise by building it up in whatever way you see fit. This fifth game in the series offers shiny new graphics, naturally, along with many tweaks to the game and the introduction of a four-person multiplayer. Playing on your own, the game leaves you in charge of the island shortly after its discovery in colonial times, and you can build its civilisation through to the 21st century, dealing with wars, changing power struggles outside of the country, and developing trade situations as you decide its future, including whether to stay independent, and what kind of constitution you’d like to implement. Of course, much of the fun is in the building – turning the island into a tourist spot, an industrial powerhouse or… uh, a barely cobbled-together string of factories and hovels, as is likely to be the case at first.

The four-player multiplayer allows you to play with friends either competitively or cooperatively – each building your own city on the same island. Will you work with your neighbour in mutual support and trade, or declare war?

With improvements to elements such as research, exploration and the renovation of old buildings, it’s the biggest Tropico yet.
