The Loplin Hood

What is it? The Loplin Hood is a Kickstarter project that blocks flare light and prevents uninvited viewing on your MacBook. The Hood snaps onto the MacBook magnetically and folds away in seconds. It’s manufactured from an ultra-thin fabric and uses a selfsupporting structure of carbon-fibre rods (like a kite) to snap into place and stay rigid. It will be available for the 13- and 15-inch Macbook Pro (unibody models from 2008 and later) and 13-inch MacBook Air (from mid-2011 and later). It comes in Slate, Dark Cherry Red, Sea Blue and Spring Green. When’s it due? Early 2015. Why are we excited? Much like the Smart Cover for iPads, the Loplin Hood uses the Macbook´s internal magnets to clip on tight. After use it can be easily stored inside your Macbook’s sleeve or bag, just pull it off and fold the two sides in. For something that’s perceived as being cumbersome, the Hood looks like it’s hassle-free.
