Filtering network access by MAC address will protect against hackers

Allowing only devices with MAC addresses you specify will deter only the most casual of hackers. Anyone armed with a network-sniffing tool will be able to see devices connected to your network and their MAC addresses. From there it’s a very easy job to ‘spoof’ an allowed MAC address and gain entry to the network.
