Flockers
Hmm… tastes like Lemmings
The premise behind Flockers is the sheep used as ordnance in Worms games have had enough and are making a break for it. This involves shepherding them through 60 levels of a factory indifferent to health and safety, packed with sawblades, crushers and giant cleavers.
On being spat out of a pipe at the start of each multiscreen stage, the sheep dodder along, unless stopped by a block you lay down, eviscerated by something, or given a special power (leaping, flying, or, er, blowing up). Careful timing and an understanding of lurking contraptions (switches, teleporters and so on) is needed for any to survive the factory’s horrors.
There’s the DNA of Lemmings in these sheep, but this is a pale shadow of that classic: fiddly, flat and limited compared to the original game that inspired it. Craig Grannell
Not bad, but oddly safe and unimaginative, and less fun than the 25-year-old Lemmings.
