More shuffling than Las Vegas

The simplest image filtering app we’ve used, Shift applies random combinations of brightness, colour and contrast to your image whenever you press the Shuffle button.

Three control points are placed on your photo, which can be moved to alter the location of filter effects or zoomed to widen or localise the area being filtered, while sliders at the bottom control colour and intensity.

It’s incredibly fast and easy to use, and you can lose quite a lot of time tapping the Shuffle button just to see what combination it comes up with next. Particularly pleasing combinations can be saved as presets to use on other photos, and naturally, creations can be posted directly to social media.

The filters aren’t particularly subtle, but the variety created by shuffling then adjusting means you may never see the same one twice. Ian Evenden
