Amazing new gear
From $2,995 (about £1,950) hoverboard.com
What is it? In the year of Marty McFly and Back to the Future Day, it’s fitting that someone’s made a hoverboard – but let’s get one thing straight: Hoverboard is not a real hoverboard, it’s actually a skateboard with a single, central wheel. But wait! It looks like you’re floating from the front, and it can play music and light up in different colours. What more do you need?
When’s it due? July 2016.
Why are we excited? All but the most basic model come with sonar sensors to keep Hoverboard level and parallel to the ground, which its creators claim gives the impression of levitation for riders. It may not be an actual hoverboard, but it looks like a great bit of fun in its own right.
