The winner
| My Cloud Mirror
All six drives have their strengths and weaknesses, but two in particular stand out, mainly because of their strong performance (and whisper-quiet operation). They’re the two newest models on test too, which bodes well for future network drive development. At first glance, it’s the lesser known Zyxel NAS520 that should win hands down thanks to its strong combination of performance, connectivity and powerful features.
Unfortunately, the Zyxel drive isn’t the easiest model to configure. By contrast, it’s this user-friendliness, paired with excellent performance (particularly with large files), good build quality and reasonable feature set, that sees us give the nod to WD’s My Cloud Mirror instead.
