Running apps

1 When you enter Mission Control, every window shrinks into its own area of the screen so you can see what’s going on.

The Spaces bar

2 Move the pointer to the top of the screen to reveal the Spaces bar, where you can access all your different desktops. Their thumbnails (and sometimes labels) tell you what’s open in each.

3 Your desktop spaces are a bit like multiple monitors you can use to organise windows and swap between them at will. Click the + on the right to create a new space.

The Dock

4 The Dock is visible in Mission Control, so you can open your favourite apps at any time, or switch to one without knowing which space its windows are in.
