5 Add preface

Right-click Chapter 1 in the Book pane, then click Delete Chapter. Click the ‘+’ (Add Pages) button at the top left, then Chapter > Preface. Click on Untitled in the Book pane to give the Preface a name.

6 Modify content

Click on the ‘Lorem ipsum’ box. Use ç+a to select all text. Either type or paste in your own text for the preface. You can also delete the stock image on the left and drag in one of your own as you did before.

7 Add chapters

Click the Add Pages button and choose Chapter > Chapter. Click Untitled in the Book pane to name this chapter, then modify the ‘Lorem ipsum’ text. Change the size/font using the format bar at the top.

8 Add pages

Click on Chapter where you wish to add pages, then click the Add Pages button. Hover over Pages. Click on the page type, eg Two Column, and it will appear. Jump to the page by clicking on it in the Book pane.

9 Insert widgets

The easiest way to add new content to pages is simply to drag and drop it into the page. Click the Widgets button at the top for more advanced features, eg an HTML page with an embedded Youtube video.

10 Preview and export

Once you’re finished, click Preview at the top to open the book in iBooks. If you want to publish through iTunes, visit support.apple.com/en-gb/HT201183 to register as an author. Alternatively, choose File > Export to save the book as a PDF.
