With a wider degree of view than the Presence, the Nest Cam Outdoor also includes a speaker – so, you can use Nest’s iOS app to talk to someone outside. There is, however, no way to store video footage locally, or a light.
Design
The Nest Cam Outdoor has a nifty appearance, but it comes with a standard three-pin UK plug. You can either plug it into a socket inside and get the flat cable through the wall, place it beside a door, or plug it into a weatherproof outdoor socket.
Ease of use
Nest is owned by Google and the app (iOS 8 or later) is simple; you can zoom, enhance, get person alerts, create clips and timelapses, and share live streams.
Price
The camera price is good, but to access your video history you’ll need to subscribe to Nest Aware. This costs from £8 per month or £80 per year (you get a free month’s trial). Watching live video is free, and you can also view snapshots from the last three hours.
