MacOS includes a way for you to specify that it should replace certain sequences of characters with a longer passage of text, but its options are rather limited. TypeIt4Me provides more obvious (and comfortable to edit) support for multi-line replacements, inserting dynamic data such as the current date, and, perhaps our favorite of all, support for rich text formatting.
