The latest updates from Cupertino and beyond

Apple has received a lot of criticism of late due to numerous issues with its macOS and iOS operating

systems. And it seems that that criticism has hit home – according to Axios, Apple has decided to push back a number of new features in iOS in favour of focusing on bug fixes and security patches.

It’s claimed that 2018 was originally meant to see the debut of a range of new iOS features, including improvements to Mail, a refresh of the Home screen and CarPlay interfaces, and updates to the picture-taking, editing and sharing processes.

Now, though, those updates are said to have been pushed back to 2019 in order for Apple to focus its next iOS release on improvements to core stability and bug fixes.

That’s not to say there won’t be any new features coming this year. Axios asserts that improvements to augmented reality, parental controls and Animojis will still make the cut. Also, Apple is said to be working on ‘digital health’ features to let you see how much time you are spending on your devices, which comes after the company received criticism for the risk of children becoming addicting to iPhones and other digital devices.

?? ?? While we’ll still be seeing new system features, Apple has pledged to focus its attention on core stability and bug fixes.
