Make your Mac run for longer
Get extra running time from any MacBook’s battery
Apple puts in a lot of effort to give its laptops all-day battery life, despite them being thinner and lighter than ever. But it’s always trying to strike a balance between power, convenience and longevity. If you want to prioritise keeping your laptop going for as long as possible, or trying to get an older MacBook with a struggling battery a bit closer to the running time it used to offer, there are some especially effective things you can do to save power.
Each of these will have a small effect on their own but, in combination, you could easily eke out an extra hour or two of battery life, which could be just what you need on a train journey if you’ve left your charger behind.
It’s all about cutting back on the little things you don’t need, or small excesses that don’t matter when you’re connected to the mains, but don’t do your Mac’s battery any favours. Getting into a few good habits now could save the day next time you’re low on power!
