EXPLAINED… Key features
Desktop
If you’re someone who keeps files on the desktop, the ability to move windows out of the way to reach them in an instant will save you laboriously closing or moving things around.
Add instant security
If you’re worried about prying eyes glancing at your Mac’s screen, even when you’ve used a Hot Corner to put it to sleep without clicking anything, make sure you make this change in System Preferences’ Security & Privacy pane. Put a tick next to ‘Require password’ and then choose Immediately from the adjacent pop-up menu. This ensures nobody can access your account after you move away from your desk.
Application Windows
The Application Windows action shows you a Mission Control-like view of all open windows from just the app you’re currently using. Great if you’re working on multiple Numbers spreadsheets, say!
Disable Screen Saver
Doing a presentation that focuses on one slide for a long time, or watching a video? Use the Disable Screen Saver action to ensure your screen doesn’t go to sleep.
Notification Centre
This feature contains a plethora of information about what needs your attention and what you’ve got coming up. Set up a Hot Corner to get at that info without having to click its menu bar icon.
