How to Manage shared folders >

1 Turn on file sharing

If you want to share files from your Mac, you first need to go to the Sharing pane in System Preferences and turn on File Sharing. This shows you what folders you’re sharing and with whom, and what access they have to your shared folders.

2 Users & Groups

If you want to make further tweaks to the shared folder settings, go to Users & Groups in System Preferences. Expand the Groups folder on the left-hand side to see a list of the groups that your Mac is currently part of. Select one of them.

3 Set membership access

The Membership section allows you to choose which user accounts (on your Mac) and groups (that you’re connected to) can access your shared folders. Click the tickboxes to allow or restrict access for each user and group.
