How to Get more from Siri on your iPhone >

-

1 Reminders on arrival

Just say “Hey Siri, remind me to call Janice when I get to work” and when you arrive at that place, it will, assuming you have a work address defined in your contact card. This works for “… when I get home” and “… when I leave here” too.

2 Bluff language expertise

Speak a sentence or word to Siri followed by “in French” and it’ll translate it and even offer to say it out loud. This works for German, Italian, Spanish and Mandarin too, and note that you can dictate punctuation as well.

3 Play your podcasts

You can use Siri to play music, and it works for podcasts and audiobooks too. You can specify which, or when you get into bed at night and plug in your iPhone to charge it, you can simply say “Hey Siri, play my audiobook”.

4 With third-party apps

Some apps not made by Apple also accept Siri commands. You can say, for example, “Hey Siri, call me an Uber” or “Send Alan £20 using Pingit”. See which of your apps support Siri with “Hey Siri, what can I ask you?” and scroll down.
