How to Enhance your show’s presence
1 Dashboard
Your statistics in Anchor tell you how many times each episode has been listened to, broken down by provider. To find this, tap View Listeners on an episode, or sign in at anchor.fm to view your Dashboard.
2 On the web
The web-based Dashboard gives more detailed stats about listening habits. It also shows when the podcast was listened to during the day, which you can use to optimise your schedule for posting new episodes.
3 Structure
Some podcast creators plan their show like a Netflix series; you could have a schedule for a season followed by a break. Stick to your schedule, or at least let people know if you’ll be taking a break to avoid giving a bad impression.
4 Specials
Similar to how some TV shows make a special episode for, say, Comic Relief or Christmas, an occasional break from your normal format can keep listeners engaged, alongside keeping it fun for you as well.
5 Voice messages
On radio shows, listeners can often call in to a show. Your listeners can also send voice clips directly to you. You’ll find those clips in the Voice Messages inbox. This is great for feedback and interaction.
6 Listener call-ins
The Voice Messages feature is a great opportunity for you to include a Q&A episode in your show. Drag messages from the inbox into your show and then answer them to give people a surprise next time they listen.
