HOW TO Add titles and transitions

-

1 Import your clips

Click on the Expert tab. Click the Add Media button. From the Add Media menu, choose a location such as Files and folders. Select the required clips and click Import. Clips will appear in the Project Assets panel.

3 Reorder clips

In our example, the timeline plays the red spaniel clip and then cuts to the grey spaniel. To change the running order, we can just drag the second clip before the first so that we then see the grey spaniel at the start.

5 Add transitions

Click on the Transitions icon. Drag a transition, such as a Wipe, between the two clips. Extend the duration of a transition in the Transition adjustment panel. Trim the clips’ start or end points to fine-tune the transition.

2 Add to timeline

Drag clips into the timeline. They will appear in Video 1 track. Attached audio will appear in the Audio 1 track. Tap the Space bar to play the clips in the viewer. You can drag the playhead to scrub through the footage.

4 Trim duration

In our second clip, the dog runs out of shot. By placing the cursor at the end of the clip, we can summon the Trim tool, then click and drag left to shorten the duration of the clip so that it cuts with the dog still in shot.

6 Add a title

Click on the Titles icon. You can browse for titles in categories such as Pets. Drag a title onto Video 2. The chosen title will be downloaded. You can then double-click the title bar to customise the default text.
