-

1 Search by subject

Type a subject (such as lake) into the Photos search field to see a list of related images. You can also ask Siri to “show me pictures of cats” and your device will automatically launch the Photos app and display relevant results!

2 Add to album

ç+click on the search result’s thumbnails to select the best results. ≈-click and choose ‘Add to’ from the window. Select an album from the list or choose New Album. Give the album a suitable label, such as ‘Lakes’.

3 Create custom albums

Go to My Albums in the left panel and click the ‘+’. Choose Album (or Folder). Label the album. Click on the Library’s Photos section, then scroll through photos and drag appropriate ones into the custom album.

4 Get smart

Click the ‘+’ next to My Albums and choose Smart Album. Label the Smart Album. Choose criteria that photos need to match to be automatically added to the album. Here we’ve created one to display Nikon-sourced shots.

5 Store by media

Photos automatically gathers a range of different media into separate albums. Click on Media Types in the Albums section of Photos to discover albums featuring Videos, Live Photos and Selfies for example.

6 Make memories

Photos will analyse images in its library and create Memories based on people, places and events. Go to the Library section and choose Memories. Double-click on a memory to view its photos or play them as a slideshow.
