Test 2 Comfort
Which bag is the most comfortable?
It’s no surprise that the most expensive bag in this test, the Moshi Urbana, is also the most comfortable – that’s thanks to a wide, easily adjustable webbing strap, plus a padded shoulder section that spreads the laptop load. The Targus Newport takes second place – it can quickly and easily be used as a full-on backpack, simply by adjusting the strap arrangement, or you can free up the straps to make them longer and sling it over your shoulder messenger-bag style. It’s versatile, but also feels a little compromised.
The Herschel Gibson Messenger and STM Judge offer reasonably wide straps and have shoulder padding. The InCase Compass Messenger lacks a padded shoulder section, making it least comfortable to carry around long-term, although we experienced no real issues during testing.
