SORT OUT YOUR EMAIL FOR GOOD
Make a separate newsletter account
Rather than using your main email address, create a new one specifically for newsletters. That way, not only will your main inbox not get overstuffed, but you’ll be able to turn off notifications for your newsletter address without blocking alerts from your regular one.
Use Sign in with Apple
When you sign up for a new app or website account, use the Sign in with Apple option (if available) to get an option to hide your email address; that way, you can protect your privacy and avoid getting unwanted mail every time you install a new app. Great for privacy and a clean inbox.
Make use of email aliases
Email aliases let you tailor your address for different purposes. Gmail allows you to do this by adding a ‘+’ before the @ sign (example+work@ macformat.com, for instance). You can then create a filter for each alias to have its mail sorted into folders for you.
Set up rules and filters
Aliases aren’t the only way to use filters. Open Apple Mail’s preferences and click the Rules tab, then Add Rule. Choose the filter criteria, then tell Mail what it should do next. You can set mail from important people to play a sound or bounce the Mail icon in the Dock, for example.
