HOW TO Manage your inbox with Spark

-

1 Customise Smart Inbox

Go to Spark > Preferences. Select General, then Smart Inbox. Check the box next to the cards you want to include in the Smart Inbox. To choose how many messages appear in a card, select the card and use the ‘Visible emails’ menu.

2 Set up Scheduling

When you snooze or schedule an email, Spark offers options cut as later today or tomorrow. To configure these, go to Preferences > Scheduling, click Snoozes, Reminders, or Send Later, and set the times and days for each option.

3 Create templates

In Preferences, click Templates, then click the ‘+’ at the bottom of the left-hand pane. Give the template a name and fill in the details. Use the ‘Abc’ menu to add placeholders such as your name or the recipient’s name.

4 Use a template

Once you’ve created a template, to use it, click Compose (next to Search) and, when the message window opens, click the Templates button at the bottom of the window and choose a template. You can now use it as a message.

5 Add a service

Adding a service enables you to export messages directly from Spark to that service. In Preferences, click on Services and click on one of the available services. Click Connect. To export to it, click on the More button in a message.

6 Customise swipes

In Preferences > General, choose Swipe Actions. For each swipe action, choose what you want that swipe to do to the message. You can then swipe on a trackpad over the message in the preview column to execute the action.

7 Create a team

Click the Spark menu, then Teams. Choose Create a Team and give it a name. Click ‘Create a Team’, then ‘Okay, got it’. You’ll be taken to the Spark website where you can add the email addresses to invite team members.

8 Assign a message

To delegate a message to a team member, click Assign at the top right of the main window. Use the menu at the top right of that box to choose a team, then select a team member from the menu. They will be sent the message.

9 Create a smart folder

Search for the same term often? Create a smart folder. Type your search term in the Search box, and when the results appear, click the folder with a ‘+’ next to it. Give the smart folder a name and click OK to save the search.
