Finder is unresponsive

You can’t Force Quit Finder like other apps, but you can force it to restart from that menu. Or, place the pointer over Finder’s icon in the Dock, hold down Alt then press and hold down the trackpad or mouse button; from the menu, choose Relaunch. Beware that doing this will terminate any file operations that are in progress.
