You’ll need…

>>> TO USE 2FA, you’ll need at least one device running iOS 9 or OS X El Capitan or later. Once it’s enabled, Apple recommends the specs to the right for the best experience of using it.

Apple Watch doesn’t receive verification codes, but 2FA must be enabled to use its ability to unlock your Mac (look in your Mac’s Security & Privacy prefs).

Devices that don’t meet the specs shown here will still work with 2FA, but the experience won’t be quite as polished – see “What about older devices?”
