Cord-cutters scored another victory against evil cable and satellite TV providers with the release of Hulu with Live TV, the long-awaited revamp of the streaming service which pioneered the whole thing in the first place. In addition to the complete streaming catalog, you can now enjoy over 50 live and on-demand channels, including the big four networks (ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC) in select markets.
Confusingly, the Apple TV build is bundled into the old Hulu app, while other iOS devices require the new Hulu with Live TV app. But both apps offer a dramatically changed user interface, which takes a bit of getting used to for longtime subscribers. After a week or so, the redesign has started to grow on us.
Unlike competing services with multiple packages, Hulu with Live TV is priced at $39.99 per month, which includes streaming on two screens at the same time, plus 50 hours of cloud-based recording for viewing at a later date. Ads are still part of the service, but you can kill them for another $4 per month.
