Embed equations in Pages

Insert equation

Place the insertion point where you want your equation to go, then tap the ¶ button on the on-screen keyboard and choose Equation (swipe up if needed). The equation editor will open in math mode by default.

The equation editor supports some LaTeX and MathML – see apple.

co/2pJpTXx. To type a gray symbol (from a 9.7-inch and 7.9-inch iPad’s keys), drag down from it, left or right (if there are two symbols), then let go.

Preview and insert

As you type, a preview of your equation will appear in the editor. If an error is displayed, check your equation to make sure it’s correct. Once finished, tap Insert. To edit an equation, doubletap it in your document.
