Quick Look Understand the search field’s suggestions
Search engine
As you type in the search bar, Safari shows a mix of suggestions, including those from whatever search engine you’ve chosen in Safari > Preferences > Search.
Safari suggestions
Safari makes suggestions it thinks are relevant, such as stock prices, iTunes music, and Wikipedia articles. Also, try “Weather” or “Map” followed by a place name.
quick site search
Safari remembers sites’ search engines that you use. Later, type a site’s name and some words; you’ll see a suggestion to submit those terms directly to the site.
show favorites
If new windows or tabs are set to show your favorite sites (in Safari > Preferences > General), you can opt to not have them appear in the search bar’s suggestions.
