Be more sociable with Music in iOS 11

Share your favorite songs and discover new tunes to rock your world

- Gary Marshall

REQUIRES iOS 11, and an Apple Music subscription you will learn How to share music with your friends on Apple Music. IT WILL TAKE 10 minutes

Music is a social experience. It’s why we go to gigs and to clubs, wear tour T-shirts, post music videos on social media, and dance like there’s no tomorrow. Yet when listening on an iPhone, music is often a solitary thing, something we experience in the privacy of our own earbuds or AirPods. Wouldn’t it be great if we could be social there too?

The good news is that we can be, as Apple Music has social features built right in to the Music app. You can share your playlists with anyone, find your friends, and discover the tunes that are currently rocking their world.

Sharing music is a brilliant experience: chances are that for every song you and your friends already know, there’s another they’ll love or that you’ll go crazy for. Sharing it using the Music app couldn’t be simpler. A word of warning, though: you can’t share songs that Apple Music doesn’t have, even if the service has uploaded them from iTunes on your Mac to your iCloud Music Library, which is for personal listening.
