How to Monitor iOS devices’ battery levels from a Mac

-

Get iBetterCharge

iBetterCharge is free, but is not in the Mac App Store. Download it from softorino.com/ibettercharge. Doubleclick the zip file and then drag the app to your Applications folder.

Trust your device

When an iPhone or iPad is connected, iBetterCharge detects it and this message appears. You might need to wake the iOS device, unlock it and tell it to trust your Mac.

First run

The first time you open the app, some introductory pages will be shown. Click through them until you get to this page. Notice how the app adds an icon to the menu bar for quick access.

Sync over Wi-Fi

Open iTunes, if it doesn’t open automatically when you connect your iOS device. Click the device icon (top left), then enable “Sync with this [device] over Wi-Fi” under Options.

Add a device

Either click Start in the app’s main window, or click the app’s menu bar icon and choose “Add New Device.” To add your iPhone or iPad you must first connect your device over USB.

View your devices

iBetterCharge can now connect wirelessly to your device, and displays its battery level provided the device is connected to your Wi-Fi network. Repeat these steps for all your devices.
